Sweet Daisy

I just wanted to post a quick card before I head off to work. Over at SCS there was an Inspiration Challenge to be inspired by something in the shop. I loved the wallpaper and the bright yellow. It just seemed so fresh and clean. So this is what I came up with.

I used my Quickutz Silhouette SD and cut a daisy background and layered it over PTI's Lemon Tart paper with matching grosgrain ribbon.  It just seemed so bright and fresh. I left it blank so it wouldn't take away from the design. You can see more in my ETSY shop.
Have a great day everyone.

A Fab Mini-Album

So truth be told, I started out as a scrapbooker. I loved turning my pictures into even bigger works of art and being able to remember them in the moment with journaling. But it was also VERY time consuming for me as the pictures would sometimes take time to edit, print, then make the pages. I stumbled on card making and fell in love, it was super fast and I didn't feel guilty about not being able to complete a project in one sitting. I was browsing the images in the Quickutz Silhouette library and came across a few die-cuts to make a mini album, so I decided to make a semi pre-made album. This album would be an amazing time-saver for any scrapbooker-just add a few of your pictures and maybe even a few extra embellishments , finish off with journaling and you have an album done! While I was making the album, it actually made me want to get back into scrapbooking. Maybe I'll make a mini-album sometime this month :)

This is the cover of the album (I love that little bird on the Basic Grey paper). The shape is very distinct but still easy to add pictures without alot of cutting.

This has got to be my favorite page of the whole album. Its just so soft and sweet. The flowers were made from a tutorial by the fabulous Dawn McVey and the background was handstamped using Papertrey Ink's Polka Dot Basics II.

The next page was very simple using a scalloped border and finished off with some ribbon. The yellow against the blue is so cheery!

I used some vintage text paper here and used PTI's Raspberry Fizz ink to stamp polka dots all over the background. The colors pop against the soft cream background.

I stamped this border and added rhinestones in the center for an extra amount of bling. :) This page would be great for pictures up at the top and journaling down at the bottom.

The final page of the album I decided to keep really simple and just used a border to tie together the page. The pink and browns just complement eachother so well.

And this is the album with all the pages peaking out. I love how the colors look together.
You can find this album in my Etsy Shop. Thanks for visiting and have a lovely day.

A Challenge Card

Kristina Werner posted a new class for "A Year In Cards" series, and I couldn't wait to jump into the challenge. This was a little hard for me at first since I am a patterned paper addict and try to use as much of it as possible on my cards ;) I found this little stamp in a pack of journaling spots from Autumn Leaves and thought it was exactly what I needed for a repetition card. Since I couldn't use layers, I used ALOT of color.

I'm just now realizing the sentiment is a little crooked, but that's ok, I still like it.

Now that I have a little more time (hopefully) to make cards, I would like to invest in a Quickutz
Silhouette
. It looks absolutely amazing and the possibilities really seem endless with no cartridges to buy. If anyone has this can you let me know what you think about it? I'm also excited that Kristina Werner has digital cutting kits available, and I can't wait to get my hands on it! :)

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Quickie Halloween Cards

I was looking at a call for CARDS magazine and saw they were looking for Halloween cards, and this is what I came up with. Using purple was so much fun, very different from the typical orange and black.
It didn't show up in this picture, but the white thickers are also topped with glitter. I really liked how this turned out, I'm addicted to scalloped edges!

And this is a little mini card using a $1 stamp from Michael's bin, and some really old tags from Making Memories. It came together really quickly since it was so small, so I'm thinking of making some more. Got to get back to work :(

What a hoot!

So this is going to be a quick post before I head out to work (ick!)...it's rainy here so it's perfect weather for taking a nap...oh well.
I picked up these Colorbok chipboard shapes from Michael's and when I opened the package, I didn't realize how big they were...I think they're meant for scrapbooking. Well I found this "little" owl and thought it went well with some paper I just got from Sassafras Lass..

Have a great afternoon.

Stand Out: CPS112

I've been seeing alot of different interpretations of this sketch (seen here) and I've been stumped on what to do...lost my mojo for awhile. So in my goal to use product that has just been sitting around I came up with this:

This butterfly die has been lying around for awhile, and since butterflies are in right now, I thought I'd use some of them. It's great for using up scraps! Well I'm off to make more cards, have a great afternoon.
